The first Prometheus training course was held March 2002 in Hinton, Alberta. Most of Canada's fire management agencies participated in this course. The Prometheus model is now used by fire management agencies in Canada and New Zealand. The Government of Alberta has submitted a 32-hour course curriculum to the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre (CIFFC) National Training Working Group (NTWG) for endorsement.
